Don’t miss these heat pump rebates and credits

Winter will soon be here, and with it comes increased heating bills. Depending upon how you heat your home, you could be spending too much! MassSave is offering an excellent rebate opportunity on high-efficiency mini-split heat pumps. The heat pump rebates can help reduce your cost to purchase and install one of these devices. They’ll also reduce the amount of time it takes to see real savings on your energy bills.

Heat pump rebates and credits for 2016

Currently, MassSave is offering $250 heat pump rebates on mini-split units with a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) rating of 18+ and a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of 9+. You can claim $500 heat pump rebates on mini-split heat pumps that offer a SEER of 20+ and an HSPF of 11+, but only through December 31, 2016.

You can also claim a federal energy efficiency tax credit of up to 10% of the total cost to install the system. This credit has a maximum cap of $500 and applies to systems with a SEER of 15 or better and a HSPF of 8.5 or better. This credit currently expires December 31, 2016.

Why go ductless?

Ductless heating and cooling units are highly efficient and will provide savings on both heating and cooling year round. You can reduce the cost of heating your home substantially, particularly if you currently heat your home with heating oil or electricity.

The best part about installing a ductless heating and cooling system is that you don’t have to give up your existing heating equipment. If you’re not confident that a ductless heating and cooling system will keep your home comfortable during the winter, you can use it supplement your existing heating equipment.

Ductless heating allows you to heat the rooms in your home you use most often when you’re using them. You don’t need to run your expensive central heating system just to heat a few rooms. Better still, you can choose your own comfort level.

With a central heating system, you set a single temperature. The system generates heat and distributes it through your home, but the distribution may leave some spots too cold, and other spots too warm. At night, you may want additional heat in the bedrooms, but that means you need to heat the rest of the house, too. The “single-temperature” solution may not provide the most comfort, and it may not put the right amount of heat where you want it.

With a ductless heating system, you’re in control at all times. You decide which rooms get heated and to what temperature. The evaporator unit is controlled remotely, so you can change its output at the touch of a button.

Give us a call at New England Ductless at (781) 995-2665 to schedule an appointment. We’ll help you select a system that works for your home and that’s eligible for these heat pump rebates and credits.
