About the HeatSmart Melrose Program
Did you know 40% of the greenhouse gas emissions produced in Melrose comes from heating systems that use fossil fuels?
It’s a problem. And HeatSmart Melrose is doing something about it.
Run by a group of local volunteers, HeatSmart Melrose is part of the larger 2020 HeatSmart Massachusetts program, which is supported by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) and the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER).
To help lower the use of fossil fuel-based heating, HeatSmart Melrose created a discount program for air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, and solar hot water.
